#WickedWednesday – Stirred, Not Shaken.

So it’s #WickedWednesday again. I let SilverHubby loose on it, again. Β πŸ™‚

This is what he had to say:

I love films. Well, not all films, obviously. But there are some movies I love. Some have moved me. Some have disturbed me. Some have done both. However, I am not known for following prompts particularly closely, or even at all. And, often, Tangents ‘R’ Us. Here are some movies that disturbed me:

Doctor Strangelove: One of my top 10 all-time favourites. This film can make me laugh until my sides ache. “What’s disturbing about that?” I hear you ask. Well, I served in the Air Force as the Cold War was coming to an end. We played some scary war games, I can tell you. The disturbing thing is that I met people who resembled some of the characters in this movie. Now that’s scary. Quote of the movie: “Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the War Room!”

You’ve Got Mail: I don’t like many rom-coms, but I love this one. Meg Ryan is beautiful and seemed to have real chemistry with Tom Hanks. However, Hanks’ character basically stalks her once he realizes she is his anonymous e-mail correspondent. This, when I thought about it, was vaguely disturbing.

9 1/2 Weeks: Oh puhleese! When will we see a movie that portrays BDSM in a healthy and positive way? This one starts off ok-ish and has some damn hot scenes in it. Things soon go downhill, with the dominant being portrayed as a nutcase.

Lord of the Rings:Β One word: Legolas. He seems to have previously worked for The Department for Stating the Bleedin’ Obvious, as he does that pretty much every time he’s on screen. It’s the way he says it in an OTT, white light way that really disturbs me. He gets this dreamy look in his eyes just before he makes a pronouncement. He is not like that in the books. I hope he’s better treated in the second Hobbit movie. Oh, and while we’re at it … the end of the Two Towers, the battle at Helm’s Deep. Where the fuck did all those elves come from? No. Just no.

What? You were expecting me to talk about sex? Have I disappointed you? Β πŸ˜‰

About silverdrop

Silverdrop and SilverHubby are a middle aged married opposite-sex couple living in the UK. Silverdrop is gender-queer and SilverHubby is pansexual. We use this blog to talk about our sex lives (especially our fanaticism about anal and pegging), share erotic photos, and offer sex toy reviews. Our [sex isn't always great], mostly because of our health problems, but we always write honestly about it. Our kinks include BDSM, gender-play, pegging, roleplay, fantasy, and lots and lots of anal.

I have never seen Dr. Strangelove, I LOVE You’ve got mail, I have seen parts of 9 1/2 weeks and I cannot stomach Lord of the Rings. Actually, I might have seen Dr. Strangelove and I might have seen the full 9 1/2 weeks, but I am so bad at remembering movies that I don’t know anymore πŸ˜‰

I LOVE Dr Strangelove. The script is sheer genius.

And yes “you can’t fight in here, this is the war room” is a sheer classic quote! πŸ™‚
