WickedWednesday – Living in the Moment

WARNING: Parts of this post may sound like a pity-fest, especially to any new readers. But it isn’t. It’s more a statement of facts and our lives and how we live them. We’re good people, it’s just that our disabilities kind mean we have to live ‘in the moment’.

So, 2014 is here. *looks around* Fresh start? Clean slate? New beginning?

Not for us. It means carrying on with life, dealing with illnesses, disabilities and pain and always doing the best we can. We’re still crazy in love after 11+ years together. It’s just that our bodies are well, not quite what they used to be [understatement alert] and that, to say the least, cramps our style and abilities somewhat.

We don’t get out much. We purchased a brand new car 12 months ago – it now has a smidgin over 3,000 miles on the clock (the dealer barely had to do anything at its annual service recently). But one of our major wishes this year is to find a way to actually meet some of you in person. Don’t quite know how we’ll manage the logistics of that yet, but we’re bloody well going to try!

So for us, 2014 will be a continuation of the daily battle. But you know what? We’re happy. Very happy. Of course we wish that some things could be different, but we are, despite everything, happy with our lives.

We hope you are all able to say the same about yours.

Happy New Year.

I often joke with the guys at work that, as I barrel towards mid-40s, my advise to them on turning 40 is not to do it. However, if my biggest issue is age, you certainly remind me of the perspective that I’ve got it pretty good…this is your fault, at the moment, after reading this. This is definitely no pity fest…as these feelings help us all when we get them down and read.

This doesn’t sound like pity festing at all… it sounds like sheer grit and determination to live life to the full. I know it would be a big deal but it would be wonderful to see you at Eroticon in Bristol.

I agree with the others far from a pity fest and very much a realistic look at the facts of the situation. Hopefully you’ll get to meet those you’d like to in the coming year.

The two of you have helped to give me incentive to work through and deal with my relatively new ongoing physical issues (on top of my long-term chronic migraine stuff). Saying ‘you’re an inspiration’ is pretty ick – but I’ve certainly appreciated being able to read how you deal with things sexually, as I struggle to adjust myself.

    Here’s to a good 2014!

It’s refreshing to read about real people experiencing real life situations. I got tired of reading some blogs that nothing is ever wrong (including mine, which I’m gonna work on in 2014) I truly hope you get to meet some of your fellow blogger friends that’s a wonderful feeling. Cheers

Well I hope you get to do what you want this year. It is hard when you have disability’s I know first hand. You have to take it day by day and step by step. Happy New Years!

You are real people with real problems and throughout it all you remain positive and upbeat doing the best that you can and that is all that anyone can ask. I really do wish you well with 2014 and I hope that you can get out and meet some of the people that you would like to. Maybe we should get a posse together and come and visit you!!!! 😉

Wishing you both the very best for 2014 and beyond!

Far from a pity fest, I’ve always loved that you could keep it real. The Hollywood glams aren’t the only ones who can get it on with style 🙂
Happy New Year to you both!!

I have said it before and I will say it again. I have so much respect for the two of you and your positivity throughout all you go through!

Happy New Year and I do hope that there will be some way this year for us to meet you!
