SinfulSunday: Hands

I Will be 55 in less than two weeks. My doctor, not unkindly, told me I have the hands of a 70 year old. This was 5 years ago.  I have osteoarthritis pretty much throughout my body. My hands are particularly badly affected, as you can see.

But these hands have lived a very full life, along with the rest of me. They could tell some stories!

The original of this has a red cast to my skin that I didn’t like. I used ColourSplash on my iPhone to do what you can see below. I rather like the effect, do you?

I knew very little about arthritis until about a year ago when I ended up doing a lot of work with a charity working in this area. I was quite overwhelmed to learn what people go through with it. I actually think your hands look strong in this images but I know they mustn’t feel that way. Great edit. xx

This image made me so emotional. My mum was diagnosed with osteoarthritis when she was 19 and her doctors predicted she would be in a wheelchair within 5 years, she still isn’t and that is down to sheer bloody mindedness (I blame her for me having that Trait!). Growing up she was always old for her age, I hated that she couldn’t do the same things as my friends mums. Now every joint has been affected and the pain is permanently etched on her face. Thank you for sharing

This is such a gorgeous photo. Like many others who have already mentioned it, I really love hands. I think they say so much about us, never covered up, always in the thick of our action every day. They have so much character and strength. Your hands are lovely 🙂 I’m also a huge fan of the color splash edit here. Well done!

Hands are so sexy, they are something I always notice about a person. I think the edit is great and I am not convinced your doctor knew exactly what he was talking about on this one

I love the effect! It’s one I have tried to achieve with that app many times but never seem to nail it… Any chance of a tutorial?!
